Mission Statement
Be a Part of Saving Lives
The Humane Society of St. Lucie County is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing compassionate care and safe shelter for homeless animals and education to the community on responsible pet ownership. We are proud to be an official no-kill shelter with the goal of finding good, safe, and loving homes for all of the animals in our care.
Who we are
We are a nationally accredited 501(c)3 non-profit corporation dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of companion animals. We have been serving our community since 1956 and rely on the generous support of individuals, businesses, and the community to fulfill our mission.
Our primary goal is to advocate responsible companion animal care and promote spaying and neutering programs. We believe that education plays a vital role in achieving our mission, which is why we prioritize providing educational resources and raising awareness about responsible pet ownership.
Each year, we are proud to find loving homes for over 1,000 animals through our adoption program. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to match pets with caring families, ensuring that they find their forever homes. We understand that financial setbacks can sometimes make it challenging for pet owners to provide the care their companions need. That’s why we also strive to support pet owners facing financial difficulties, assisting them in keeping their pets at home through various resources and initiatives.
As an organization, we are committed to transparency, accountability, and the highest standards of animal welfare. We adhere to national accreditation standards, ensuring that our operations meet rigorous guidelines to provide the best possible care for the animals under our stewardship.
We invite you to explore our website and learn more about our programs, services, and how you can get involved. Whether through adoption, volunteering, donations, or spreading awareness, your support is crucial in helping us make a difference in the lives of companion animals in our community.
Together, we can create a compassionate and responsible community for our furry friends!
