This charity golf tournament event was very important to us because it’s such a celebration of the importance of community, organizations, and emphasizes the generosity of our local businesses and their leaders. This tournament was made possible by many community partners but especially GL Homes.
I am a 2–5-year-old female Lab mix. I am going to do my very best to always please you. I will love you and be your fur-ever best friend. I love attention and will sunbathe while you pet me all day. I love getting treats for my antics, but just making you happy is treat enough for me.

The HSSLC Enrichment program is designed to improve and enhance the mental lives of the dogs in our care. Many times dogs come into a shelter and become anxious or depressed. There is such a high energy level in the kennels that stresses some dogs out. Certain dog breeds also require a lot more exercise and attention than other breeds. If they aren’t able to get the needed exercise, this can lead to anxiousness or lashing out. This is why the Humane Society of St. Lucie County has decided to launch our NEW Enrichment Program.
This girl is no joke in the snuggle department. She has equal parts energy and patience. I’m not kidding you… she embraced her flower crown as if it sprouted from her own head.
She’s full of life, love, and would be a perfect guest at a tea party or even a breast cancer awareness event.
Thousands of cats get adopted from shelters each year. These cats have found their forever homes with loving families. Many times these families would love to celebrate their cat’s birthdays but are unsure of when their birthday actually is. That was what lead to Catober 1st being deemed as the universal birthday for shelter/adopted cats.
International Homeless Animals Day is a day to spread awareness on pet overpopulation. There is an incredible overpopulation of dogs and cats worldwide, which leads to so many dogs and cats becoming homeless. This day is celebrated on the 3rd Saturday of August each year.
Hi my name is Jack! I am estimated to be between 2 and 5 years old. I am an American Staffordshire Terrier Mix. I have been living at the Humane Society of St. Lucie County for almost a year now. My family gave up on me in September 2020. A request to my future family: I would really love a mini dog pool, I loooove the water. Could you please play fetch with me? It’s my favorite. I can’t wait to love on you and for all the hugs. I want all the attention I can get so I would prefer a home with no other animals. I also am a pretty big boy so I prefer older children in the home.
