Giving Tuesday
November 28

We’re excited to kick off our Giving Tuesday campaign with a special announcement that will inspire giving! Don Kauchak & Kathy Lake have generously pledged a $10,000 match challenge. This means that any gifts received by 11:59 PM on November 28, 2023, will be doubled, effectively saving twice as many animals in need.
What is Giving Tuesday?
Giving Tuesday has become a movement that inspires people nationwide to give, work together, and celebrate generosity. Whether it’s a monetary donation, some of your time, standing up for an issue you care about, or sharing love to those who need, every act of generosity counts, and everyone has something to give. We hope you join the movement and give back this Giving Tuesday. At the Humane Society of St. Lucie County, Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of animals in need.
Giving Tuesday at the Humane Society of St. Lucie County:
The Humane Society of St. Lucie County hopes to unite our entire community to celebrate our shared compassion for animals in need and support the work of the HSSLC.
Thanks to our generous community partners, Kathy Lake & Don Kauchak, the first $10,000 donated will be matched. So, on this Giving Tuesday, your gift to the Humane Society of St. Lucie County can go twice as far!
Belle’s Inspiring Journey:
Let us introduce you to Belle, a remarkable furry friend who embodies strength and resilience. Belle’s story began when she and her brother, Jack, arrived at the Humane Society of St. Lucie County as strays. Despite finding love and care in a foster home, her path took an unexpected turn.
Belle’s foster mom noticed something was wrong, leading to a trip to the emergency vet, where a mysterious internal bleeding was discovered. Her health crisis escalated, resulting in paralysis, and her life hung in the balance. Belle’s unwavering spirit saw her through two life-saving blood transfusions.
Today, Belle faces her challenges with determination and a wagging tail. She’s making remarkable progress with the help of a doggy wheelchair and intensive therapy. Water therapy has become her favorite, and she recently stood on her own, demonstrating her incredible spirit.
“Stories like Belle’s inspire us every day. At the Humane Society of St. Lucie County, we are dedicated to ensuring animals like Belle receive the care, shelter, and love they need to thrive. Your support on Giving Tuesday can make a life-changing difference for these animals.” Shannon Glendinning, Director of Marketing & Public Relations
