August 2021 Featured Pet of the Month

Hi my name is Jack! I am estimated to be between 2 and 5 years old. I am an American Staffordshire Terrier Mix. I have been living at the Humane Society of St. Lucie County for almost a year now. My family gave up on me in September 2020. A request to my future family: I would really love a mini dog pool, I loooove the water. Could you please play fetch with me? It’s my favorite. I can’t wait to love on you and for all the hugs. I want all the attention I can get so I would prefer a home with no other animals. I also am a pretty big boy so I prefer older children in the home.

Hi everyone! My name is Lego. I am currently living in a foster home. I have been in and out of the shelter my entire life. Each time I was returned I was more heartbroken, I didn’t understand why I was brought back. The family that adopted me just couldn’t find time for me. My other family decided to move to a new home that didn’t allow dogs. I have been let down so many times and had started to lose hope, that’s when my shelter family decided to find me a foster home.

May 2021 Featured Pet of the Month

Sweetie is 8 years old. She gets along great with other dogs and is looking to spend time with her new bestfriend. Sweetie knows all the basic commands.

January 2021 Pet of the Month

Nugget is a friendly cat who is good for kids. He is fully house trained and very playful. Nugget can high-five on command! Who says that cats can’t be trained.

December 2020 Featured Pet of the Month

Leia is a very low maintenance dog who loves laying in the sun just as much as she loves laying in her bed. She is housebroken and rarely barks unless she is hungry. Leia walks well on a leash. When it comes to her furry friends, she can be selective. Her friend will need to be the same activity level as her and respect that she is large and in charge. As for cats, she generally has no interest in them and probably couldn’t catch a cat if she tried.

November 2020 Featured Pet of the Month

Cole weighs about 80 pounds. He is house-trained, loves the couch, and severely allergic to children and cats. Cole is fully trained and has served as the “neutral dog” in the shelter – he loves all dogs and he’s the big man on campus. Cole is probably one of the best behaved dogs you could ever meet.

Diamond is a Terrier, Pit Bull mix. She is 6 years old. Diamond came to us from what seems to be a loving home. Her BFF fell on hard times and could no longer afford to take care of her. Diamond does not understand that yesterday she was in that loving home and today she is in our shelter without her BFF. She tells you this with her actions.
